This wine comes from the vineyards located in the municipalities of Barolo, Monforte d’Alba, and Novello: which represents the southwestern part of the Barolo production area. This is a Barolo that the family has always produced, even in the seventies where separation of single vineyards began to take place. This wine expresses the soil characteristics and different microclimates that blend well in the this wine.
The wine-making process for this Barolo is like that of the cru’s but with a shorter maceration process. According to Giovanni Battista Croce (1606), Nebbiolo name derives from the transposition of the adjective “noble”; this is why we continue to age our Barolo in large Slavonian oak casts from 1500 to 3000 liters, (with the planks bent on fire but not toasted) and not new oak (since the new barrels are good for the Barbera). We believe that the noble Nebbiolo grape varietal develops its power gracefully. It is aged for two years in large barrels and one year in the bottle.
Among the different types of Barolo that the family produces this is the one that is immediately appreciated by the consumer and for the first time faces the varied landscape of this wine. Despite being a less complex Barolo it is better to consume this wine at a younger age given its expressive nose and excellent elegance even in its youth.

2 Bicchieri rossi; PTS 5: Molto buono anche il Barolo '15, peso medio e impronta fruttata leggera e armoniosa, perfettamente tarata su una trama tannica solida, il finale è continuo e prolungato.

It reveals notes of bigarreau cherry, Boysen berry, small notes of small wild fruits associated with fine touches of violet, iris/rose as well as discreet hints of cuben pepper and cardamom. Slightly greyish ruby. Sweet, meaty nose - quite evolved. Lovely combination of freshness and ripeness, with fine tannins howvering in the background. Dry finish. 14,5% Drink 2017-2025. FINE + RARE.
"Dunkel leuchtendes Rubinrot. Offenherzige und frischfruchtige Nase nach Kirschen und Himbeeren, zarte Walderdbeeren. Am Gaumen ebenso mit frischer Frucht, spannt sich schön trinkig über die Zunge, leichtes Salz mit feinem Spiel. The nose is aromatic, elegant, racy and offers a fine power/ concentration. It reveals notes of blackberry and wild raspberry combined with small notes of ripe red berries as well as a hing of rose, gray pepper, dicreet hing of blond tobacco and of hazelnut. The palate is fresh, fruity, well-balanced, precise and offers a beautiful fresh mineral frame, suavity, a small straightness as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. This wine expresses notes of black cherry, plum and small notes of ripe red berries associated with touches of violet, rose as well as discreet hints of liquorice and an imprerceptible hint of ripe laurel berries. Tannins are elegant and fine. There are hints of almond and chocolate on the finish (bring a few chews.)
Pale ruby with orange tinges. Unusually reductive at the beginning, but improves with air. Really shy and reluctant but with wonderful coating tannins. Very elegant palate weight and good length. Genuine. (WS) Drink 2017-2032
Leather and meaty charcuterie bouquet; richer, denser palate with good fleshiness and texture. Sweeter fruit and more charm than the 2012, and very long. A real charmer.
Fresh earth and leather bouquet; intense and soft in the mouth, mellow and gently drying. Dried flowers. Warmth of alcohol and tannin resonates on the aftertaste. Long finish
Here's a pleasant, neither modern nor rustic example, with a fine blend of old school floral perfume, erath and leather notes coupled with sweet ripe wild starberry and rasberry flavours. The palate is fullish, firm, more rustic than modern, and all the more authentic for it, leading into a long finish. A fine and balanced example all in all, an more than fair value.

Classic, old school Barolo with dusty, faded flowers and dried red berry flavour, as well as plenty of resinous herbal notes. Perhaps not the most riveting example, but certainly representative.

Penetrating and intense on the nose, this has classic nebbiolo perfume of liquorice-spiced red fruit, fresh road tar and faded violet and roses in the textbook spectrum. The palate is a bit stewed, though keeps it together on the back of firm, woolly tannins. The finish lingers on a distinctly medicinal edge. I'd tuck this away for another 2-3 years at least for the maximum expression - it's not intended to be a fruity, early drinking wine to be sure
